　　报告人简介： 

　　Dr. Larry Walker is a Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University, and is currently the Director of the Cornell Biofuels Research Laboratory. Dr. Walker was elected as a fellow in the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering in 2009. He was recognized for Outstanding Contributions a member of the Biomass Research and Development Committee, The National Biomass Initiative, U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Department of Agriculture, in 2005. 

　　研究领域： 

　　Currently Dr. Walker's research team has several foci:  

　　(a) pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass and its subsequent enzymatic saccharification, (b) the study of cell-wall-degrading enzymes using advanced nano-confinement methods and advanced imaging, and (c) the development of metabolic reconstructions for understanding and manipulating the transformative capability of microbial systems.
